About the Challenge
What Is the Engineering Challenge?
The FlexOS Software India Tech Recruitment & Engineering Challenge 2026 is a structured, multi-stage assessment process designed to identify exceptional software engineers for founding team roles based in Dubai.
Unlike traditional hiring processes, we evaluate candidates through practical problem-solving, system thinking, communication, ownership and execution — not only through CVs or academic credentials.
The challenge is role-specific. Each candidate is assessed against the competencies required for their target role, not a generic coding test applied uniformly across all positions.
Quality overrides hiring volume. We are building a small, highly capable founding team — not filling a large number of positions quickly.
Final hiring decisions remain human. No automated system makes employment decisions. All assessments are reviewed by the founding team.

Five Founding Engineering Roles
Each role is a distinct founding position. Together they form a complete engineering team.
Founding Engineering Lead / Software Architect
System architecture, technical leadership, cross-functional design, engineering standards
Backend & Data Engineer
APIs, databases, data pipelines, distributed systems, performance and reliability
AI/ML Engineer
Machine learning systems, model deployment, data science, responsible AI practices
Frontend & Product Engineer
User interfaces, product thinking, accessibility, performance and design systems
Cloud, DevOps & Security Engineer
Cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, security engineering, observability and reliability
Assessment Process
How Candidates Are Assessed
Not all stages apply to every candidate. The process is tailored to the role and the candidate's profile.
Role-Based Screening
Initial review of your application, experience and target role alignment.
Structured Technical Interview
A focused conversation covering technical depth, system thinking and problem-solving approach.
Live Problem-Solving
Collaborative technical session to observe how you reason, communicate and work through real problems.
Role-Specific Technical Test
A targeted assessment of the core technical competencies required for your role.
Paid Work Sample
A time-limited technical assessment at later stages. No productive client work is requested without appropriate agreement.
Architecture & System Design
Discussion of design decisions, trade-offs, scalability and security considerations.
Code Explanation & Debugging
Walkthrough of your submitted work — you must be able to explain every line.
Security & Documentation Review
Assessment of security awareness, testing practices and documentation quality.
Reference & Identity Verification
Final stage for selected candidates. Conducted through secure, direct channels.
